In 2008 we were very pleased to welcome to West Fest the Ric Sanders Group. Ric is the virtuoso fiddle player in legendary folk-rock band Fairport Convention and performed here with Vo Fletcher on guitar and Michael Gregory on drums and percussion. We were treat to an eclectic mix of jazz classics and rock and pop covers, original compositions, folk tunes and some re-worked Fairport favourites. Liberal helpings of improvisation ensured it was unlike any previous RSG gig! |
The format was the same as last year, with two stages, a "main" stage in the field and an "acoustic" stage in the beer tent.
